Dortha M. Richards

In loving memory, Dortha M. Richards, 84, of Roland, Oklahoma, passed from this life July 14, 2014 in Fort Smith. She was born, August 24, 1930, to the late George and Alice Johnson McLemore, in Arkoma, Oklahoma. She retired from Sparks Hospital as a Nutrition Supervisor, was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and a member of First Baptist Church of Roland. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 63 years, Orville E. Richards. Dortha is survived by her daughter, Judy Carol Page of Roland; her three granddaughters, Tracy James and her husband Dustin, Amy Rodriguez and Heather Page; four great grandchildren, Victoria, Alex, Ian and Ashley; four great great grandchildren, Summer, Matthew, Eden and Jasper; three sisters, Frances Watts of Muldrow, Naomi Price and Glenda Cochran, both of Greenwood, Arkansas; a sister in law, Zella Richards and three brothers in law, Gary Richards and his wife Janice, Bert Richards and his wife Peggy and Kenneth Pyle. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Norma Smith, Opel Rogers, Emma Jean Rogers, Margaret Tate, Wanda Wofford and Carolyn Snellgrove, as well as her brothers, Delbert, George, Charles and Darrell McLemore. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, July 18, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Roland, officiated by Rev. Paul Borum and Rev. Ben Henry, with burial to follow in Roland City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00pm Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Raymond Weaver, Paul, Gary Lee and Troy Richards, Alex Rodriguez and John Richards. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Edwards, Rocky and Dennis Woods and members of the First Baptist Church of Roland adult Sunday School Class. Dortha loved Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.
