

Reverend Eldon Lowe Stone, 79, of Ft. Smith, AR, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on January 14, 2014. He was born in Altheimer, AR on July 9, 1934 to A.M. and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Stone. Bro. Stone pastored churches across the U.S., including Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, and New Mexico for over 60 years. He was well known for his evangelical ministry and his love for the hearts of lost souls. Bro. Stone graduated from the Missionary Baptist Seminary in 1957. He has served in various leadership roles within the American Baptist Association and was instrumental in many missionary efforts across the U.S. The celebration of his life and ministry will be held at Living Faith Baptist Church, 12515 Highway 253 South, Ft. Smith, AR, 72918 on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating the services will be Bro. Jerry Grimes, Bro. David Harris, Bro. Randy Cloud, Bro. Edgar N. Sutton, Bro. John Owen and Bro. Buel Lewallen. Committal services until the Rapture will follow at Steep Hill Cemetery, 8015 Steep Hill Rd., Ft. Smith, AR, 72916. Smith, AR, Anthony (Toney) Stone (Teresa) of Greenwood, AR, 8 grandchildren, Jessica, Leah, Hayley, Laikken, Chance, Hunter, Elvis and Brandi, and 5 great grandchildren, Ephraim, Adrielle, Shepherd, Elias, and Kaleb. Three sisters, Juanita Bowen of Washington, AR, Jeanne Kelly, of Redfield, AR, and June (Allen) Shockley, of Gainesville, TX, three sisters-in-law, Shirley Stone of Altheimer, AR, Pam Jones, of Heber Springs, AR and Floy Stone, of Perryville, AR. brother-in-law Elton (Tommie) Jones of Hot Springs, AR and numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends from previous pastorates. Serving as pallbearers will be David Estep, Paul Morris, Scott Fullbright, Guy Paul Jones, Jim Real, Chris Cloud, Kelvin Richardson, and Jason Gambill.
