Ellen Foster

Ellen Christine “Chris” Foster, 89, entered into rest, Thursday, March 6, 2014. She was born November 16, 1924 in Thomaston, GA to Luther and Flora Garrett. Christine was a hardworking mother who raised two sons and was very proud of them. She was the retired owner of Pagliacci Restaurant that she operated in Fort Smith from 1966 to 1986. She spent her later years living at Mid-Town Apartments where she made many friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She always loved visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren and hearing about their school and activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Flora Garrett; one brother, Winston Garrett.

She is survived by two sons, Arthur Ray Foster and his wife, Earline of Arkoma, OK and John Lamar Foster and his wife Sue of Dyer, AR; three grandchildren, Kevin Foster and his wife, Tisha of Auburndale, FL, Shelly Harmon and her husband, Shawn of Fort Smith, AR, and Eddie Foster and his wife, Peggy of Fort Smith, AR; five great grandchildren, Matthew Harmon, Brody Foster, Hunter Harmon, Hayden Harmon, and Emily Foster; one brother, Kervin Garrett of Onalaska, TX; two sisters, Helen Hammock of Fort Valley, GA, Ventrine McCoy of Manchester, GA; as well as her beloved dog, Lexis.

Funeral services will be 1:00 Monday, March 10, 2014 at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

The family will visit with friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 North 12th Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901.
