Elsie Mae Mitchell

Elsie Mae Mitchell, 77, of Fort Smith, AR, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 in Fort Smith. She was born November 8, 1937 in Alma, AR. She was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church and American Legion Post 31 Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by Alonzo F. Mitchell, her husband of 58 years. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Edwards Funeral Home with burial at Mountain View Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. She is survived by two daughters Pamela Barron and husband Donnie of Muldrow, OK and Theresa Mitchell of Fort Smith, one son Dennis Franklin Mitchell and wife Kimberly of Alexander, AR, one sister Mary Cittum of Van Buren, AR, four grandchildren Tonya Deel and husband Stephen of Sallisaw, OK, Amy Blakley and husband Tim of Benton, AR, Christen Butler and husband Gary of Benton, AR, Stacey Barron of Austin, TX and six great grandchildren Gavin Deel, Garrett Deel, Cassidy Blakley, Reagan Blakley, Mallory Butler and Anna Kate Butler. Pallbearers will be Steve Deel, Donnie Barron, Gary Butler and Tim Blakley. The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM-7:30 PM at the funeral home.
