Helen Marie Kremer, 90 of Ft. Smith passed away Friday, January 10, 2014. She was born January 18, 1923 in Prairie View, AR to the late August Frank Werner and Katie Hatwig Werner. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Barling. Mrs. Kremer was retired from JCPenney’s. Mrs. Kremer was a member of the Eagle’s Club and the Dervish Club. Mr. & Mrs. Kremer loved Ballroom dancing and won many awards. In 2013 the Kremer’s were awarded the Longest Married Catholic Couple in the State of Arkansas Award for 72 years of Marriage. Mrs. Kremer had many talents and hobbies; she played the organ, painted, knitted, raised dogs, loved flowers, loved to fish, and collected angels. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters; Tillie Forst, and Stella Bender.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM Monday, January 13, 2014 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Barling with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary in Ft. Smith.
Mrs. Kremer is survived by her husband of 72 years Bernard Kremer of the home, her daughter Barbara Peterson and her husband Tim of Ft. Smith, three sons; Fenton Kremer and his wife Theda of Pleasanton, CA, Bernard L. Kremer and his wife Holly of Ft. Smith and Allen Kremer and his wife Glenda of Liberty Township, OH. Mrs. Kremer is also survived by one Sister Mildred Furstenburg of Paris as well as 11 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and three Great, Great, Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Peterson, Colin Peterson, Craig Kremer, Paul Leskovac, Jacob Leskovac, and Gerald Forst.
