James "Jim" A Etter Jr.

Jim served 28 years in the United States Navy and Navy Reserves. After that, he served 5 years on the Fort Smith Fire Department. He then served 19 years and retired as a Corporal with the Arkansas State Police.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother, Kenneth Wayne Etter, and also by his wife, Sandra Etter, of El Dorado.

Jim is survived by his immediate family which includes his brother, John Etter Sr. and wife Janice (Fort Smith); his niece, Marcie Cuellar and husband Jay (Fort Smith); his nephew, John Etter Jr. and wife Lori (Waipahu, HI). Jim’s extended family includes step-son Tony Mims and wife Deena and a grandson, Forrest (Calabasas, CA); step-daughter Jolie King and husband Jeff a grandson, Lance, and two granddaughters, Lacy and Autumn (El Dorado). Jim’s life also includes many, many friends that mourn his passing; especially his little companion dog, Patsy.

Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Jim will be laid to rest at Fort Smith National Cemetery at a later date
