James Lawrence Kenney, Sr., 83 of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on February 2, 2026. He was born in Fort Smith on September 29, 1942 to James and Ethel (Herron) Kenney. James proudly served in the United States Navy. He will be remembered for his love of music and bourbon, embodying the true spirit of an old southern gentleman.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Charlotte Kenney; daughter Karen Kenney; half-sister Paula Wise and stepson Harold Sosebee.
James is survived by his son, James Kenney II and his wife Elaine, and daughter-in-law Darlene Sosebee.
SERVICES HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED: A memorial graveside service will now take place on Monday, March 9th at 10:00am at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 4211 Stateline Rd, Fort Smith, AR 72916.
