He respectfully served in the United States Air Force from 1968-1974. He was a loving and dedicated father, and he was a devoted Christian and a member of Spradling Baptist Church where he faithfully attended and loved to sing.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Fay and Ruth Hobbs, brother Tommy Hobbs, and sister Joyce Wroge.
He is survived by his wife Tammy Hobbs of the home; his children Pete Hobbs of Fort Smith, AR, Katy Kehler of Greenwood, AR, Ben Hobbs (wife Ally) of Greenwood, AR, and Amanda Yocum of Fort Smith, AR; 5 grandsons Cameron Kehler, Logan Kehler, River Yates, Dallas Smothers, and Rowan Floyd Hobbs who will arrive Feb 2024; as well as his siblings Carolyn Bateman, Jim Hobbs, Linda Jean Woodward, Steve Hobbs, Dan Hobbs, and Phil Hobbs.
Visitation will be held at Edwards Funeral Home Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM located at 201 N 12th Street, Fort Smith AR,72901. The funeral service will be Friday, February 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Spradling Baptist Church at 11:00 AM located at 3515 N 50th Street, Fort Smith AR, 72904. Graveside service will be held Monday, February 12, 2024, at Fort Smith National Cemetery at 11:00 AM located at 522 Garland Avenue, Fort Smith AR, 72901.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to World Vision at worldvision.org, or to Spradling Baptist Church in memory of Jerry Hobbs.
