Jeweldean Porta, 98, of Fort Smith, passed away December 12, 2020. She was born October 2, 1922, in Lone Star, Arkansas, to Ulis and Alta (Crossland) Carter.

Jeweldean was a lifelong Baptist, and she was retired from R. H. Burkee in Fort Smith. She was devoted to her 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Porta; her parents; two sisters, Nell Wolfe and Lorena Henry; and two brothers, Arnold Carter and Nelson Rozell.

She is survived by her brother, Cleve Lee Carter and his wife, Lola, of Dyer; her sister, Loretta Bryan and her husband, Mack of Fort Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel, officiated by Dr. Kent Sweatman, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Viewing will be Tuesday from 12 PM – 7 PM at Edwards Funeral Home, and the family will be present from 5-7 PM.
