Jewell Cameron Wise, 83, entered into rest, June 29, 2018, with family by his side at his home in Fort Smith. He was born June 12, 1935, in Alpena, Arkansas, to Hugh and Lena Reynolds Wise. He graduated from Green Forest High School in 1953 and was married to Katherine Walker on June 11, 1954. He worked for the city of Green Forest as the Water and Wastewater Superintendent and left after 28 years to join Municipal Pipe and Supply in Fort Smith in 1988. He retired from there after two acquisitions (Clayton Group and Ferguson Waterworks) in 2003.
In addition to his parents, Jewell was preceded in death by his brother, Rex Wise; sister, Mildred Morris; and daughter-in-law, Tressa Wise. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Katherine; two sons, Bill Wise, and Rick Wise and wife Janet; eight grandchildren, Abraham Guzman, Ben Guzman and Nicole, Billy Wise and Micalena, Jesse Wise and wife Kristin, Brittany Oringer and husband Ryan, Kelsey Wise, Elizabeth Janes and husband Jesse, and William Wise; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Jewell enjoyed raising a garden and taking family vacations. He was blessed to visit all 50 states with his wife, Katherine. He was a member of Northside United Pentecostal Church of Fort Smith. Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday at Northside United Pentecostal Church with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
There will be a visitation 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest, AR with a graveside service to follow at Carrollton Cemetery near Alpena, AR under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Wise, William Wise, Ryan Oringer, Jesse Janes, Wendall Mastin and Steve Ramey.
