Jim Conley

Arthur Deon “Jim” Conley, 74, of Arkoma, departed this life July 9, 2015 in Muldrow, Oklahoma surrounded by his family. Jim was born September 9, 1940, in Stigler, Oklahoma to the late A.D. and Mary Jane Conley. He was a 1959 graduate of Spiro High School. Jim was the owner and operator of Jim Conley Distributing, an avid fisherman and sports fan. He was a former Mayor of Arkoma, past Emergency Management Director of Leflore County, a former member of the Arkoma Civil Defense and a former member of the Arkoma Volunteer Fire Department. Jim was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Martha Nell Conley.

Jim is survived by his son, Deon Conley and wife Linda of Greenwood; his daughter, Maryanne Madison and her husband Darrell of Muldrow; five grandchildren, DJ Madison and his wife Rachel, Courtney Madison, Kayla Madison, Braxten Madison and Matthew Conley.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Monday, July 13, 2015 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 3:00 to 5:00pm Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Smith, Dillon Trammell, DJ Madison, Sheldon Kannady, Ricky Whittaker, Kory House and Braxten Madison.
