Jimmy D. Hailes was born to Clyde W. Hailes and Laura Miraglio Hailes on July 11, 1961 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Jimmy died peacefully in his home on October 16th, 2023, after a long, brave, battle with cancer. He was 62 years old.
He is, no doubt, now resting in the arms of his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Jimmy attended Community Church when he was able and when he couldn’t, he watched it online. Electronics are amazing.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Clyde W. Hailes, his mother, Laura Miraglio Hailes, his father in-law, Jim C. Hatchett, and his brother-in-law, Dale M. Peters.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Kim Hatchett Hailes. He is survived by three children: his son, Cody Hailes and wife Kaela of Greenwood, his daughter, Kylee Stallings and partner, Jonathan Daniels of Oklahoma City, his son, Easton Stallings and wife, Ashton of Edmond and granddaughter, Lane Stallings of Edmond. Jimmy is survived by three sisters: Diana Peters, of Huntsville, Texas, Joyce Haver and husband Chuck of Fort Smith, Anna Dickens and husband Gary of Van Buren. Jimmy is also survived by his mother-in-law Ann Hatchett, of Fort Smith, three sister-in-laws and their spouses: Tiffanee Wiley and husband, Jim of Fort Smith, Hillaree Tiffee and husband, Kevin of Fort Smith, Jamee Risley and husband, Alan of Alma, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Jimmy had a life well lived. He loved spending time with his family whether it was at home watching a game, watching them swim or at a field or gym somewhere watching them play ball. He watched a lot of ball, but never tired of cheering on his family.
He was very proud of his huge, beautiful yard and he and his trusty dogs spent hours out in the yard or the pasture working and enjoying the outdoors.
The newest member of the family, his grandbaby, Lane Stallings was a bright spot in his heart. When he was able, he would hold her and just smile from ear to ear. He had that special Grandpa love for Lane.
He loved his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews so very much and enjoyed joking with them. In fact, he loved joking with everyone. He often teased his brother in-laws about the lack of performance of their Ford, Dodge, or Toyota trucks. He was a Chevy man. It didn’t have to be a joke about their trucks, it could be anything. He had a quick wit, but was always kind in his kidding.
He was crazy about watching sports, but especially cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Saint Louis Cardinals, and the Dallas Cowboys with Kim. He enjoyed camping with her and they spent as much time as they could at Arkansas and Oklahoma State Parks with family and friends camping…really it was “glamping”. Now, deer camp, on the other hand, was not “glamping”, but he loved it just the same. He spent many weekends and a week every year with his great friends in that cabin in
Winslow, Arkansas. Talk about male bonding…they were bonded for life…dear friends who would do anything for each other.
Along with watching sports, Jimmy liked watching the old westerns from Tales of Wells Fargo to The Virginian, but in recent days he watched them tirelessly. Kim couldn’t hardly stand to see them on the television, (they are way too slow for her) but she realized they brought him comfort…so she endured with love and understanding.
Jimmy was a devoted employee of Hickory Springs and worked there from the time he graduated from Van Buren High School in 1979. His work ethic was strong and is something he passed on to his children. His devotion and work ethic took him far in his career with Hickory and left a positive impact on his coworkers. Jimmy could “fix” almost anything and was called upon many times to do just that for family and friends. He had every tool needed for the job and always helped with a smile.
Jimmy will be greatly missed, because he left a legacy of a life well lived.
