John L. England

.John L. England, 76, of Fort Smith, passed away Sunday in Fort Smith. He was born July 27, 1940 In Fort Smith to the late Ralph and Erma (Moore) England. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was retired from the Fort Smith Public School System where he taught at Ramsey Junior High and Southside High School. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by a sister Elaine Blair.

John was a loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed reading, listening to jazz records, sipping coffee with friends and sorting his massive baseball card collection. He played college basketball and was a pitcher in American Legion ball, as well as a coach. He loved all sports, but was a passionate St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Memorial service will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation was

under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife Gloria, one daughter Terri Lynn England Roe and husband Barry of Conway, AR, one son Ralph Martin England of Dallas, TX, one sister Ann Elder of California and 10 grandchildren.
