He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Angela; children John and Sandra of Germany, Deborah and Trent of Sallisaw, Mark and Crystal of Van Buren, and Kendra and Brett of Uniontown.
John is also survived by; three brothers, Jeryl of Uniontown, David of Bonanza, and Daniel of Van Buren; four sisters, Shelba Brooks and Judy Isenhower of Van Buren, Yvonne Guise of Ratliff, and Della Vulgamore of Witcherville; five grandsons, Katan, Justin, Bryan, Colby, and Kaid; seven granddaughters, Natascha, Nicole, Satori, Emory, Madelyn, Lauryn, and Cynthia; and one great grandson Jaden.
John went to school in Cedarville, Arkansas and later joined the military after high school. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and returned to Uniontown, Arkansas after 10 years overseas. John also served as a member of the Army National Guard 296 Medical Division stationed in Charleston, Arkansas. He worked for the Whirlpool Corporation in Fort Smith for 30+ years until the plant closed. He was a member of the Uniontown Baptist Church since 1963 and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior before departing.
John enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting in his younger years, and spending time with friends and family. He lived near his family in the Uniontown area where he adopted chickens, guineas, rabbits, and other critters to the home that sometimes favored a small farm. John’s favorite pastime was helping when and where he was able to within the community and checking in on his many friends and family in the area.
