Joyce A. Slone

Joyce Slone, 74, passed away April 17, 2010 at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith. She was born February 21, 1936 in Booneville, AR to Ethel and Joseph Nichols. She was employed by Sears in the service department. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Travis Lee Nichols.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John E Slone of Fort Smith; one son John P Slone and wife, Deborah, of Russellville, AR; two grandchildren, Cara Slone of Conway, AR, Travis Slone and his wife, Melissa, of Abilene, TX; and one great grandchild, Ryan Slone of Abilene, TX.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St Paul United Methodist Church with interment to follow in The Fort Smith National Cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. The family will greet friends and guest Monday, April 19, 2010 from 5:30 PM-7:30 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ben Beland, Deon Rollins, Kenneth Spicer, Bill S. McCain, Leroy Caselman and Bill K. McCain.
