Judy Elaine Hart, 76, of Fort Smith, passed away late Friday night, June 25, 2021, at her home. She was surrounded by family in a peaceful farewell after a four year battle with ovarian cancer. Judy was born June 20, 1945, in Hugo, OK, before being raised in Arkoma. She attended Immaculate Conception before graduating from Spiro High School and receiving honors for her involvement in FHA. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University, Judy spent much of the next decade traveling due to the military, including two years in the Philippines, where the first of her three children was born. Eventually returning to Fort Smith, Judy became involved in East Side Baptist Church and was an amateur tennis player. Following her divorce, Judy began a 30 year career with ABF.
As a single mother of three children, she devoted the entirety of her life to her family, much as her mother and sisters had always done for her, ensuring activities were always possible, bills were always paid, food was always provided, and independence was thoroughly modeled for her children. Later in life, Judy was revealed to be an adored and adoring grandmother. She relished victories in competitive games and attending to the many babies to come. Her retirement was full of list-making, social media exploration, window shopping, and communicating with her children and grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ivey Fuller; a sister, Janie Bevill; and a brother, Corky Fuller.
She is survived by a daughter, Jenny Hart of Carmel, CA; two sons, Rob Hart of Windsor, CO, and Barry Hart of Fayetteville; two sisters, LaRille McCrady of Spring, TX, and Mona Alonzo of Northville, MI; dear relation, Paula Bevill, of Fort Smith; and ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing and visitation from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 N 12th St, Fort Smith, AR.
Funeral service with no viewing will be 10:00 am, Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel in Fort Smith with burial to follow.
