

Kenneth “Buddy” Mizell, 83 of Springdale, AR, formerly of Pocola, OK passed away December 3, 2015 in Springdale. He was born January 25, 1932 in Jenny Lind, AR to the late Damon and Sarah Heard Mizell. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the occupation forces in Japan after WWII and during the Korean War. He was of the Assembly of God Faith. Buddy worked at Anchor Hocking in Commerce CA. as a mold maker, drove trucks for Liquid Carbonic Corp, and Hickory Springs in Ft. Smith. Buddy was also a Music Promoter, promoting concerts with Country Music Artists such as Conway Twitty, Ray Price, Jerry Wallace, Johnny Paycheck, Bob Wills, and a host of other artists which he knew personally. He was preceded in death by one daughter; Dana Mizell-Robbins and one brother; Harold Wayne Mizell.
Mr. Mizell is survived by two daughters; Deanna Shannon and her husband Brett of Goshen, Angela Mizell of Pocola, two brothers; Danny Mizell and his wife Alice of Wendell, NC, and Jerry Mizell and his wife Sue of Lincoln AR. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Chase Acosta and Seth Acosta of Ft. Smith, Krista Greenich of Dade City, FL and Nathan Shannon of Goshen AR., and one great grandchild, Hunterlyn Shibley as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 12:30 PM Monday, December 7, 2015 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with the Reverend Danny Kennedy officiating. Family will visit prior to the service beginning at 11:30 AM. Burial with military honors will follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
