Kenneth Martin Richards, 80, of Pencil Bluff died Thursday, May 17, 2012, in Hot Springs. He was born Nov. 1, 1931, in Ecorse, Mich., to Robert and Lillian Baumiea Richards. He worked as an electrical engineer in Fort Smith and retired from T.I. Tubing in Kentucky in 2001. He and his wife, Sally, returned to Pencil Bluff, where they currently reside. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Pencil Bluff and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sally Richards of the home; great-granddaughter, Payton Ashing of the home; three daughters, Beth Swenson of Charleston, Kathy Howard of Fort Smith and Theresa Chastain of Bloomer; two sons, Kenneth Stephen Richards of Bentonville and Dean N. Marrone of Fort Smith; one sister, Denise Kalinowski of Springdale; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Pencil Bluff. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
