

Kimberly Kay Wheeler, 56, died peacefully on Tuesday June 16, 2015, in Fort Smith. She was born on December 30, 1959 in Whittier, CA to David Lawrence Jesse and Anna Kathryn Jesse. She was a graduate of Southside High School, and she married Mickey DeWayne Wheeler in 1979, and the couple had one child together. In 1990, she accepted a position as a Rural Route Carrier at The United States Postal Service where she worked for more than 24 years. Prior to moving to Arkansas she lived in California, Texas, Illinois, and Oklahoma. She travelled with her family to Europe and the Caribbean.
Kim was a social, active woman who was involved in Church for the majority of her life. She enjoyed the outdoors, painting, drawing, reading books, arts & crafts, music, and her family. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving mother, an avid animal lover, and always as a comical person.
Kim is survived by her daughter, Morgan Elizabeth Hanna of Elmira, NY; one sister, Jennifer Langley of Colorado Springs, CO; one brother, David Jesse of Greenwood, AR; and her rescue dog Bluto. She was preceded in death by her former husband Mickey DeWayne Wheeler of Fort Smith, AR and her beloved rescue dog Gypsy Rose.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Kim’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, June 20th 2015, in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Service and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service.
