Kotomi D'Angelo, 93, of Fort Smith, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2012, in Fort Smith. She was born May 15, 1919 in Niigata, Japan. She was a former cook at Fort Chaffee and Pete’s Place. She opened the first Japanese Restaurant in Fort Smith in 1969. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest G. D'Angelo.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 3, 2012, at the Pavilion at National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She is survived by two daughters Anna Knoetgen of Fort Smith, AR and Marie Silmon and husband Doug of Fort Smith, AR, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends Thursday evening, August 2, 2012, at Edwards Funeral Home from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
