

Larry Whittington, 59, formerly of Fort Smith, died Friday, February 19, 2010 after a short illness in Richmond, VA. He was born August 18, 1950 in Fort Smith and was a graduate of Southside High School, class of 1968. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps from October 1969 to September 1973 and he was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked as a Service Tech, Salesman and Branch Manager in Arkansas, Tennessee, Ohio, Texas, and Kentucky for Simplex Time Recorder Company for more than 20 years. He was an active member of Trinity Hill United Methodist Church in Lexington, KY.
He is survived by his wife Deborah of the home; two sons, Major Eric Whittington, USMC of Fredericksburg, VA and Sgt. Scott Whittington, USMC of Honolulu, HI; two grandchildren, Austin and Gabrielle and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 12 noon in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 6:30 PM. In the Trinity Hill United Methodist Church.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM.
