Maxine Elkins, 100, passed away October 3, 2023. She was born November 22, 1922 in Mulberry, AR to George McGehee and Lula (Fisher) McGehee. Maxine was retired from Gerber Products, and she was a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and watching the Razorbacks, and she enjoyed family gatherings; spending time with her children and grandchildren. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Luman Elkins.
She is survived by her children, Gary Elkins and wife Pat of Natural Dam, AR, Ina Kelly and husband Hugh of Fairfax Station, VA, and Pam Cheyne and husband Tom of Fort Smith; grandchildren, Susie Hobbs and husband Tim, Angie Davis and husband John, Jennifer Knowles, Teresa Kelly, Sarah Pond and husband Caleb, Ian Cheyne and wife Leslie; seventeen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Fort Smith National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Ian Cheyne, Caleb Pond, Daniel Hobbs, Caleb Hobbs, Samuel Hobbs, and Jarrod Gillean.
