Mildred "Millie" Hancock

Millie Hancock, 94, passed away November 23, 2023 in Fort Smith. She was born December 25, 1928 in Muldrow, OK to Loyd Lee Butcher and Cora Faye (Howell) Butcher. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church, and she enjoyed gardening and dancing. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hancock; her parents; her brother, Donald Butcher; her sister, Sharon Christopher; and a granddaughter.

She is survived by her daughters, Connie Bergeson and husband Don of Fort Smith, LaJean Cousins of Fort Smith, and LaJan Smith and husband Harold of Van Buren; her son, Jackie Green and wife Rhonda of Long, OK; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 5 – 7 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Rick Bergeson, Doug Douglas, Steve McCleary, Casey Jeremiah, Jacob Nagy, Dominic Kelley, Trevor McCleary, Matt Mabrey, and Zane Davis.

The family would like to thank Chapel Ridge Health & Rehab nurses, CNAs, doctors, administration and staff for their love and care. They were Millie’s bonus family for almost two years.
