
Philip Lee Rogers, 74, went home to our Lord on July 4, 2013 from his home in Roland, OK surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was born November 29, 1938 in Fort Smith to the late Buford and Peggie Frost Rogers.
Philip has always been a man of service and a hard worker. He was in the U.S. Navy for 6 years and served in the Korean War. Later, he started his own business, OK Auto Glass, in 1993 until 2011. He was married to the love of his life, Georgia for 52 years and 3 months. A faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Roland, OK, in which he served the Lord diligently by remodeling and up keep of the lawn. He loved the Lord and his family very much. He was the greatest man we have ever known, and has taught us so many life lessons. He will be missed greatly and loved much until we see him again in Heaven.
Loving father and grandfather he is survived by his wife of 52 years Georgia Rogers of the home, Roland, OK, his children Shelton Rogers-of the home; Penny Adkins & Daniel Ates of Broken Arrow, OK; Shawn & Tammy Rogers of Van Buren, AR, grandchildren Heather & Chris Greninger of Broken Arrow, OK, Karina & Creighton Moore of Fayetteville, AR, Chris Davis & Kirsty Hannick of Roland, OK, Jamie Rogers of Fort Smith, AR, Megan Pitchford of Rogers, AR, Morgan Pitchford of Van Buren, AR, Whitney Rogers of Barling, AR, Josh Dugan of Roland, OK, Devin Rogers and Lexie Rogers of Van Buren, AR, Alyssa Ates of Broken Arrow, OK, great-grandchildren Nathan & Blake Greninger of Broken Arrow, OK, Charlie Pitchford of Van Buren, OK, Mia Davis of Roland, OK & a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Philip was preceded in death by his grandparents/parents Ben & Lela Rogers and his parents Buford Lee & Peggie Frost Rogers.
The family is accepting visitors at their Roland home on Monday evening. There will be no viewing before the service.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 12:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Roland, OK with Dr. Brian Sheppard officiating the service. The arrival time at the Fort Smith National Cemetery is at 2:00pm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, AR.
Pallbearers will be Shelton Rogers, Shawn Rogers, Daniel Ates, Chris Greninger, Chris Davis, and Josh Dugan.
