Reginald Saucier, 86, died February 11 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born April 19, 1930 in Soldier Pond, Maine to Rene and Mattie Voisine Saucier. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Faye Saucier, of the home.
Reg joined the military at 17, served his country as a pilot in the Korean Conflict and remained a proud veteran of the US Army where he attained the rank of First Sergeant.
Among many other things Reg was an insurance salesman, a truck driver, and a restaurant owner and operator, but in his heart he was a pilot and felt most at home in an airplane. Before he gave up flying he’d become an accomplished pilot as well as a gifted instructor, and eventually an instructor of instructors while employed at Executive Aviation in Fort Smith in the late 60s and early 70s.
He believed in hard work, having fun, and helping those that needed a lift. He was quick to smile, loved to laugh, and liked to go fast whether on horseback, riding motorcycles, or flying airplanes.
His memorial service will be held at Edward’s Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith on Monday, February 13 at 11:00am.
The family will visit with friends Monday from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM.
