Robert E. Hardie, 83 of Fort Smith passed away Monday, October 27, 2014. He was born January 9, 1931 in Van Buren to the late Dee Franklin and Elsie Hardie. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a self-employed landscaper and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Memorial Graveside services with military honors will be 1:00 PM Thursday October 30, 2014 at the Ft. Smith National Cemetery. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
Mr. Hardie is survived by three sons; Chris Hardie of Van Buren, Billy Hardie of Ft. Smith, and Robert Hardie, Jr. of Oklahoma, his sister Beverly Noles of Russellville; three grandchildren; Christopher Lee Hardie, Matthew Eugene Hardie and Janice Lee Cagle, as well as seven great grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Wednesday October 29, 2014 at the funeral home.
