Robert Leon Worst

Robert Leon Worst, 80, of Fort Smith, died December 7, 2015 in Fort Smith. He was born July 12, 1935 in Leach, Oklahoma to Edward and Alice Zoe Christman Worst. He was a member of the Van Buren Church of God. He was retired with 22 years of service from the U.S. Navy where he received two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, Navy Cross and more Ribbons than a county fair. Following the service he worked and retired from the Whirlpool Corporation. Daddy was a man who loved God, his country, and his family which he served more than any 100 men could. We love and miss you a lot, all who knew him, loved him and respected him.

He leaves behind his wife, rib, and soulmate, Sondra of the home; four daughters, Elizabeth Worst, Kayla Marie Worst, and Sandra Marie Worst all of Fort Smith, and Abigale Jo Worst of Sallisaw, OK; Johnny Worst and Michael Worst of Fort Smith, and Bobby Worst and Gabriel Leon Worst of Spiro, OK; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Gary Worst; two brothers, Charlie and John Worst; and two sisters, Lulla Howard and Elaine Gregory

Funeral service will be Friday, December 11, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery of Fort Smith with full Military Honors all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 5-7 PM
