Shirley Ann Leonard, 75, of Fort Smith, died March 30, 2011 in Fort Smith. She was born September 11, 1935 in Humboldt, TN to Vernon and Tiny Lorraine Jones Forsythe. She attended Jackson State University, was an avid reader and artist and she was of the Methodist Faith. She was a kind and very generous person, who now is in Heaven in the arms of her husband John Richard Leonard who preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Barber of Fort Smith and Cheryl Spaulding of Tucson, AZ; one son, John Thomas Leonard of Fort Smith; one sister, Margaret Elkins of Jackson, TN; three grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Eagle Barber, and Stephanie Spaulding; and two great grandchildren, Anya Harris and Abigail Smith.
The family will greet friends in her memory on Saturday, April 2, 2011 in her home from 3 – 6 PM. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
