Shiva Kumari, in monastic life known as Mother Michaela fell asleep in the Lord, Monday, March 24, 2014 in a local hospital. She was born May 28, 1941 in San Bernardino, CA to Harry and Beula Doblin Worthman. In her early adult live she performed on Broadway and appeared in several movies using the stage name Sabra Worthman Welles. She was a member of the Marshall Chess Club in New York City and acted as an interpreter for Chess masters from Russia. In the 1970’s she entered Monastic life and lived in Maine and upstate New York, before moving to Arkansas in 2003. Funeral services will be a 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Sts. George and Alexandra Orthodox Church, 7500 Mahogany Drive, Ft. Chaffee with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
