Thomas L Eppler

He was preceded in death by his step-daddy, George Wesley Henderson and his mother, Florence Geneva (Miller) Henderson Logan.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Carol (Smith) Eppler; one daughter and son-in-law, Melanee Jean and Paul David Trimble; two sons and daughters-in-law, William Vernon “Bill” and Melissa Ann (Poche) Eppler, Larry Todd and Janet Carol (Ridenour) Eppler; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Tom graduated from Southeastern State College at Durant, Oklahoma in 1962. He earned his Master and Doctoral degrees from the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley, Colorado in 1968. He taught on the high school and university levels for 36 years.

Tom passed away after a valiant, eight-month fight with mesothelioma. The body was cremated. Tom will be remembered as a committed Christian, loving husband/father and avid tennis player in that order. His goal was to enjoy life. He did!

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 2:00 at Woodlands Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home.
