

Vera Mae McNally passed away on June 1, 2025. She was born on November 7, 1936 to Icy and Early Hill in Florence, AL. She attended school in Alabama and Memphis, TN where she met her husband Tommy McNally. They married on January 7, 1956. After many years of raising their children in Memphis they relocated to Fort Smith, AR in 1973 where Mae worked for 25 years as a customer service manager at K-Mart. After retirement Mae and Tommy enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and traveling in their motor home with other members of the Good Sam Club.
Vera Mae is survived by her daughter Susan Killian of Fort Smith, two sons Pat McNally of Fort Smith and Tim McNally and his wife Cindy of Fort Smith, her grandchildren Rachel Siddall of Memphis, TN, Matt McNally of Rogers, Will McNally of Fort Smith, Bailey Cook and husband Jimmy of Oppelo, Cole Killian of Fort Smith and Ethan McNally of Belfast, Ireland and her great grandchildren Macey, Rhett and Silas Cook, Chandler Jane Siddall and Anakin Killian. Vera Mae is also survived by her brother Bobby Hill and his wife Frances of Luka, MS, niece LeeAnn Klutts and her husband Don, and her nephews Dennis Hill and his wife Kathy, and Carl Hill all of Memphis, TN.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Barling with burial following at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Cecil McNally, her parents Icy and Early Hill, brother James Howard Hill and grandson Dane McNally.
Pallbearers will be Matt McNally, Will McNally, Ethan McNally, Cole Killian, Dennis Hill, Carl Hill, Don Klutts and Chad Upton.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Ashton Place for their loving and compassionate care over the past several years. Mae was not always easy, but they sure enjoyed her sarcasm!
