Wendell E. Harris

Wendell E Harris, 71, of Fort Smith died April 17, 2013 in Fort Smith. He was born August 13, 1941, in Cunningham, TN, to the late William and Daisy Underwood Harris. Wendell was a retired rate specialist for ABF, a member of Denver Street Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood, AR and was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife Jackie; three daughters, Deanna Shanklin and her husband Ricky of Calvert City, KY, Tresa Ferguson and her husband John of Saint Louis, MO and Traci Hampton and her husband Mike of Greenwood; his sister, Regina Atkins of Cahokia, IL; seven grandchildren, Heath and Hayley Hampton, Whittney and Matthew Shanklin, Garrett Cardwell, Dalton Ferguson and Christopher Prock and 1 great grandchild, Luca Prock. He is preceded in death by a daughter, April Cardwell.

Funeral services for Wendell will be Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 1:00PM in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, April 19, 2013 from 5:00-7:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home. Burial of ashes will be at a later date at Fort Smith National Cemetery.
