William Edward Fisher Sr.

William Edward Fisher, Sr., 79 of Van Buren passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010. He was born October 8, 1931 in Wapello, Iowa to the late William Kenneth Fisher and Ora Mae Brown. He was a retired Navy Veteran and master electrician. He was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lucy Jean Nuzzo Fisher, a daughter Linda Yeakley, and a son Frank Fisher.

Committal of ashes with military honors will be held 10:00 AM Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery Pavilion. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his daughter Annette Hartsock of Van Buren, his son William E. Fisher, Jr. of Fairbanks, Alaska; two sisters; Beverly Pickens of Watseka, Illinois and Betty Rossow of Rock Island, Illinois; eight grandchildren; Cindy Burdick, Kristina Ward, Anthony Fisher, and Kimberly Fisher all of Fairbanks, Alaska, Sharon Blount, Michael Yeakley, Jeannette Jenkins and Tony Fisher all of Van Buren; eight great grandchildren; Jadelynn May Ward of Fairbanks, Alaska, Lamanda Blount, Branden Blount, Sarah Yeakley, Jacob Jenkins, Kaylyn Jenkins, Mikie Yeakley, and Ryan Fisher all of Van Buren.
