

William O’Mahony, 83, of Fort Smith, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016. He was born on May 4, 1932 in Kilkenny, Ireland to the late John and Anatasia O’Mahony. He was retired from the United States Army and a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from Rheem on May 31, 1994. He was preceded in death by his wives, Maria M. O’Mahony and Mary A. O’Mahony.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with full Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his children, Kathleen Harbottle and husband Eddy of Hartford, William O’Mahony, Jr. of Fort Smith, Maria O’Mahony of Fort Smith, John O’Mahony and wife Linda of Muldrow and Daniel O’Mahony and wife Jaquita of Greenwood; four sisters, Anne Hoffman of New York, Catherine Carey, Anatasia (Sister Bernadette) O’Mahony and Theresa Delahunty, all of Ireland; two brothers, Thomas O’Mahony and Joseph O’Mahony, both of Ireland; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM-6:30 PM at the funeral home..
