Arthur Kelly Fitzharris

Arthur Kelly Fitzharris, age 78, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, peacefully passed into his heavenly home on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022. He was born in Richmond, Indiana, and was a graduate of Richmond High School and then Ball State University. While there, he earned his BS degree in Education and a Master's in Psychology. Even though he trained to be a teacher, he went into sales and marketing with Chevron Chemical Co. He retired after 38 years and went on to teach the Leap program at Indiana Wesleyan University. He served in various roles in his church, enjoyed golf, and traveled with his beloved wife, Donna, frequently to their place in Florida. He was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, his extended family, and many friends. He lived 21 years with Parkinson’s Disease and always maintained a positive spirit and sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna (Black) Fitzharris; Son, Kevin Fitzharris (Stephanie); daughter, Jill Piper (Vic); grandchildren, McKenna (Casey), Connor, Claire (Jack), Keenan, Carter, and Caleb; sister, Barbie Armstrong (Jerry); stepbrothers, Pat and Tim Fitzharris; stepsister, Lisa Onyon; brothers-in-law, Dave (Patte) and Danny Black; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Arthur Fitzharris and Coralena (Cromer) Fitzharris, he was preceded in death by his dear grandmothers, Wanda and Mabel. Much gratitude is owed to his many caregivers.

A funeral service to honor his life and legacy will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Emmanuel Community Church, 12222 West US 24, Fort Wayne, with calling from 1:30 p.m., until time of service at the church. Arrangements by D.O. McComb and sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN.
