He served in the U.S. Army until he was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1952.
Art was a dispatcher at Norfolk and Southern Railroad Corporation for 39 years until is retirement in 1993.
He was a member of American Legion Post 296 and a member of the transportation-communication international union.
He is survived by his step-sons David W. (Nani) Barnett and Bruce A. Barnett; ex-wife, Faye Woody; one step-grandchild; and two great-step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susanne Saner; parents, Oliver and Buena Saner; brothers, Walter H. Saner, George J. Saner, Smith Saner, Silas Saner; and sisters, Martha L. Martin and Ollie B. Chapman.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, July 9, 2021 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Ft. Wayne, IN 46805. Calling will be held 2 hours prior.
Burial will take place in Highland Park Cemetery, Ft. Wayne, IN.
