Audrey (Freeland) Beerbower

Audrey (Freeland) Beerbower, (91), Was called to heaven peacefully, Sunday October 25t h, from Kingston Care Center of Fort Wayne. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by family. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Acle Beerbower. Her parents Rupert and Catherine (McPherson) Freeland, her Brother George, Sisters Geraldine and Fern Freeland. Audrey is survived by her children Gail Craig of Van Wert OH, Margo (Russell) Glunt of Fort Wayne, Tom (Sheryl) Beerbower of Fort Wayne, Her Grandchildren, Joseph (Angie) Craig of Soham, England, Zachary and Daniel Craig of Van Wert OH, Elizabeth Glunt and Rebekah (Justin) Glunt of Fort Wayne, Amanda Glunt of Hawaii, Alycia Leatherman (Jason) Walters of Indianapolis, Madison Beerbower of Humble, Texas, Serenah (Tyler) Morris of Bloomington and many great grandchildren. Audrey was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Church. Anyone who met Audrey instantly fell in love with her. She was a nurturer to everyone. She was an amazing wife and mother and the best “Grandma B”. She adored the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Audrey loved many things in life, especially cooking for everyone, because “they always looked hungry”. She fattened up any dog she ever had. She loved collecting stuffed bears and partaking in her favorite beverage…..Beer! Which she continued to enjoy right up to her passing. This sweet angel was a ray of sunshine that created memories that family and friends will share today and far into the future. Visitation will be on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at C.M. Sloan and Son's Funeral Home (1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne). Funeral service will be on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 10:00 am at the funeral home, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow the service at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org). A final wish that Audrey expressed many times later in life: she wanted stuffed bears in lieu of flowers at her funeral. The family requests that these bear gifts be sent or delivered to C.M. Sloan Funeral Home in Fort Wayne, in her honor. All gifts will be donated to a local hospital or charity after the funeral services.
