Barbara Ann Bussen, 78, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while at the Cedars Retirement Home on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018. Born in Fort Wayne, Barbara was the daughter of Mary Jane (Eckert) and James Sztuk. She attended Central Catholic High School. For over 40 years, Barbara was very involved at Grabill Missionary Church along with her husband, Richard. Richard was the sound man while Barbara was the wedding coordinator. She also participated in dramas, Heart-to-Heart bible studies, Missionary Women International, and was a graduate of Bible Study Fellowship. Years ago, Richard and Barbara were involved in a fulfilling puppet ministry (Maranatha Puppets) along with their close friends Jan & Larry Roth. Barbara enjoyed skydiving in her younger years as she was one of the first women in Fort Wayne to make several jumps out of a perfectly good airplane. Even with all of her outside interests, she was most passionate about her family and friends. Nearly everyone will remember her by her sense of humor and the amusing predicaments in which she always found herself. She loved sports and followed her seven sons and grandchildren to all their athletic events. When her sons were on the team, she drove the van for the Carroll High School cross country meets and she rarely missed a baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, track or wrestling event. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. She is survived by her seven sons Timothy (Pamela) Bussen of Florida, Terry (Joyce) Bussen of Fort Wayne, Tom (Beth) Bussen of Leo, Ted (Jennifer) Bussen of Fort Wayne, Todd Bussen of Leo, Troy (Mindy) Bussen of North Carolina and Trent Bussen of Huntertown; 17 grandchildren and 9 great grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2017, her daughter Tammy and her grandson Trevor.
