

Barbara Helen Jacobs of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on January 29, 2022. Barbara (known as Barb by family and friends) was born on April 22, 1929 to Lawrence and Jenny Krewson. Barb graduated from South Side High School in 1947 and shortly after graduation she went to work for American Hoist in Fort Wayne, where she met her future husband, Fay and they were married at Trinity English Lutheran Church where Barb remained a member after his death. In later years, she worked for Mayflower Moving Company and then retired from Stearns Moving and Storage in 1993. Barb enjoyed spending time at Adams Lake, traveling to spend time with extended family, and attending church functions. She was a member of the Dorcas Circle at Trinity where she made many friends and was the group's photographer. Barb was a gifted knitter, she also enjoyed reading, shopping, feeding birds and other wildlife that visited her yard; she was known to have the fattest squirrels in town. More than anything, in her later years, she was an avid fan of the T.V. show, “Blue Bloods,” she never missed an episode. Barb is survived by her son, Phillip (Keri) Jacobs; her daughter, LeAnn (Jeff) Childress; two grand-daughters, Kalli (Ben) Gulley and Samantha (Corbin) Blair; two grand-sons, Nic Jacobs and Greg (Destina) Jacobs; and three great-grand-daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fay Jacobs on January 8, 1968; and her oldest son, Michael Jacobs on June 5, 2021. A graveside service will be held for Barbara during warmer weather.
