Beatrice Elaine Harris, 70, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, surrounded by family and close friends. Born March 23, 1946 in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Marie Gaskill. Beatrice enjoyed shopping, movies, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by daughters, Alisha Weemes, Monica (Marquette) Reese, and Marvella Raines, all of Fort Wayne; sons, Allen Meriwether, Tyroy (Lisa) Meriwether, Michael Meriwether, and Ernie (Viveca) Meriwether, all of Fort Wayne; sisters, Sarah Smith and Mary Gaskill, both of Fort Wayne; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jowanna “Pinky” Brown; brothers, David Gaskill, Steven Gaskill, and Carl Thatcher; and best friend, Linda Rogers. Funeral Service will be 11:00am on Friday, November 25, 2016 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 2421 S. Hanna St., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Frederick Alexander Sleet. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
