

Bernice Ilene Pfundstein, 79, passed away January 5, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on December 27, 1946, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of the late, George R. and Margaret Linville.
Bernice was a devoted prayer warrior and a faithful encourager of those around her. Her life was a testament to her deep and abiding faith, and she found purpose in lifting others up in prayer.
She will be remembered for her compassionate heart and unwavering devotion to Christ.
Throughout her life, Bernice worked in several roles, as a telephone operator, secretary, and in retail. No matter the position, she approached her work with dedication and care.
Bernice had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. She also found joy in simple pleasures, including feeding the birds and squirrels- an activity she truly delighted in.
Bernice married the love of her life, Robert Keith Pfundstein, for 48 wonderful years. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2017.
She is survived by her daughter Karen (Jem) Mel, and her beloved grandson Elijah Mel.
Awaiting her in heaven, and dearly missed, are her husband, Robert Keith Pfundstein, her father George Linville, her Granny Dora, Jared her grandson, and many other loved ones who went before her.
Though she will be missed deeply by those she leaves behind, her family finds peace in knowing she is now whole, reunited with loved ones, and rejoicing in eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday January 14, 2026, at First Assembly of God Church, 1400 W. Washington Center Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior. Committal and Burial at Concordia Gardens Cemetery 5300 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to First Assembly of God Church.
