Betty Mae Sinnes, age 80, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023. She was born Oct. 6, 1942, to the late David and Colleen (née Elliott) Lyons. Following graduation, she would marry the love of her life, Harold E. Sinnes, upon his return from Saigon where he was stationed during the Vietnam War. They would live in Kansas City, Kan., prior to their relocation to Fort Wayne, Ind. Betty was active in the neighborhood association, City of Fort Wayne, enjoyed rehabilitating stray and homeless pets and wildlife, but cherished her role as a devoted wife and mother to her family the most. She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Ann (Clifford) Schlatter; son, David Paul (Amy) Sinnes; former daughter-in-law, Pamela Jane Sinnes; grandchildren, Clifford Schlatter, Jacob (Alexis) Schlatter, Victoria Schlatter, Skyler Sinnes, Landon Sinnes, and Colton Sinnes; and great-grandchildren, Selena, Auron, Ezekiel, and Riley Noel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edward Sinnes. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023 at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services - Highland Park, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior.
