Good bye Betty,

You were the oldest of 7 sisters, otherwise known as the “the Denny girls”, all of which I had the pleasure of getting to know over the last 46 years when I met and married your second youngest sister, Gerri. 

She often talked about you and what an important person you were during her formative years. From her and your other sister’s stories, you were a generous person who took the time to often include your two youngest sisters in family activities while raising your own three children.

Thanks for giving Gerri and Linda your kind guidance in their tender years.  Your actions were priceless.   We pray for you now even though we know you are in heaven.

Thank you grandma for a lifetime of memories and traditions, some of which I have shared and passed down to my little family. Coco and toast, kisses stuck like glue, back tickles, card table forts, making shaping in clouds, holiday bakings, vacations, cards and baked beans when camping, singing during road trips, these are just a few things I have cherished always and we talked about often during our visits.

I’ll never forget that time when we lived with you and I took the bus home from school and I wasn’t supposed to and you weren’t home, man that was scary or our last camping trip, just you, grandpa, and I.   More recently, you really loved my cooking so I would try to bring any leftovers of something new I made or allowing me to use your trees to practice my vertical techniques for vertical caving. 

Thank you for the love, support, driving me to from work when I needed oil changes, and everything in between. 

I always found it funny that grandpas nickname for you was “Toots”.  As sad I am to loose you, I know grandpa is happy to have his toots back by his side.

I have many fond memories of my big sister.   She and Tad took Linda and me many places with Brenda, Tom, and Barb while we were all growing up.  They took us roller skating, swimming at their grandmother's house, we spent Christmas vacations at their house, to name a few.  I remember going to Florida with them on vacation when I was in high school.  Betty and Tad took Linda and me in like their own children.  It was as if they had 5 children. The year I graduated from high school, Betty opened up  her home to me that summer until I had a job and had enough money saved up for my own apartment.  She drove me to job interviews and helped me look for a job.  When I got a job she drove me to and from work everyday.   She was an AWESOME big sister.  She had a very blessed life and family.  Brenda, Tom, Barb- I know you will miss her terribly.   Love you all.   Betty,  I love you to the moon and back..... your little sis,  Gerri.
