Carol Ann (Sprunger) Lehman, 93, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away August 24, 2025, at The Towne House, Fort Wayne. She was surrounded by love and was beautifully cared for by the amazing Towne House staff and Heartland Hospice. Carol S. Lehman was born on December 25, 1931, in Berne, Indiana to the late Howard R. and Helen L. Sprunger. She attended Berne High School, Class of '49, and following graduation received a music scholarship to Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio. She was a talented piano player and also played the accordion.
On June 29, 1952 she married Jackson R. Lehman in Berne and together, they raised four children. Carol was able to enjoy many lake weekends and celebrations with the family at Jimmerson Lake, including Mother's Day and Fourth of July this summer. She was a lifelong member of Plymouth Congregational Church, where she volunteered and served in various areas of church life.
Carol is survived by her children, Jan (Jeff) Funk, Ray Lehman, Susan (Dr. Steve) Hoagburg, and Denise Lehman; grandchildren, Dr. Jay (Staci) Funk, Jen (Matt) Dunham, Dr. Michael Hoagburg, Dr, Brian (Emma) Hoagburg, Drs. Rachel (Ryan) Natal, Ryan (Samantha) Lehman, and Lindsey (Brooks) Copple. She was blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Cat Funk, DJ Funk, Charlie Lehman, Jack Dunham, Will Dunham, Emerson Copple, Fritz Hoagburg, and Finn Hoagburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson R. Lehman; son, Robert K. Lehman; and four brothers.
Memorial Service is 11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Plymouth Congregational Church, 501 W. Berry St, Fort Wayne, with calling ninety minutes prior. Private Interment at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
