

Carolyn Elaine Bernard, born on May 6, 1940, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 85. A resident of Fort Wayne, Carolyn was a woman of many virtues, known for being honest, kind-hearted, humorous, generous, wise, and ornery.
Carolyn was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1958. She went on to build a successful career at Magnavox, where she worked diligently and retired after 26 years of service.
Carolyn was the daughter of John O. Davis and Mildred A. (nee'. Walker) Davis-Gillette. She was married to the late Gillis "Gil" A. Bernard. She is lovingly remembered by her children, James L. Winchester (Kris Link), Tamra S. Stier, Ricky L. (Kay) Winchester, and Chad (January) Dressler; her stepchildren, Gary W. (Dianne) Bernard and Cindy K. (Joe) Dawson; 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She also leaves behind two nieces, Vickie Bodkin and Lori Walker, and a lifelong friend, Betty Argyle. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Donald Lee Davis, and a granddaughter, Allison Stier.
Carolyn had a passion for shopping and was affectionately known as the Queen of QVC. She was a collector of blue butterflies, owls, and carousel horses. Carolyn loved camping, traveling, car shows, and hosting holidays for her family. Her greatest joy came from visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, alongside her beloved pets, Jetta and Cadeera.
Carolyn Elaine Bernard will be deeply missed by all who knew her and cherished her presence in their lives.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:30 AM on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley, 1320 E. Dupont Rd. (46825) with visitation starting at 10:00 AM prior to service. The Rev. Brad Mattax, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
