Christine Leigh Hettinger, 55, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024 in her home. She was born January 5, 1969 in Fort Wayne, IN. She received a Certificate of Completion for Special Needs from Holland Elementary School. She then spent her time at Easter Seals ARC of Fort Wayne, IN in the day program. She will be remembered for her smile, laughter, her love for her family; and her mischievous way of finding and destroying any paper or magazine she could get her hands on. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Sandra Hettinger; great-nephew Alexander Oaks. She is survived by her sister, Tammy Hettinger (Jill Podsadecki); niece, Rachael (Kaleigh) Podsadecki; four great-nephews, Zachary, Kenton, Jacob and Brayden; and one great-niece, Aubree. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Christine resided with her loving foster parents, Musa and Joyce Kweheria and family in Fort Wayne, IN. Funeral will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne with visitation two hours prior.
