Ada Christine "Chris" Little Martin, 100, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus at Golden Years Homestead. Born Ada Christine Little, on February 15, 1925, in Lee County, Miss., to James Henry "Jim" Little and Sallie Camilla McGill Little, Chris was the eighth of ten children. She graduated from Ingomar High School, in Mississippi. On February 22, 1947, she married the love of her life, Hugh Mayes Martin, with whom she would have six children.
Chris will be remembered for her infectious smile, grace, and southern hospitality, as well as her incredible work ethic. She worked for many years in retail, retiring from L.S. Ayres at the age of 75. Chris loved Jesus and accepted him as the Lord and Savior of her life at a young age. She faithfully served in many capacities within her churches, most notably Memorial & Faith Baptist in Fort Wayne. Chris delighted in engaging with people.
Chris is survived by her children, Gary (Kathy) Martin of Fort Wayne, David (Carol) Martin of Holland, Mich., Pamela (Robert) Dew of Covington, Ga., Allan (Cindi) Martin of Denver, Colo., and Cathy (Thomas) Kirk of Bonaire, Ga.; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and was gifted with her first great-great-grandchild in 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Hugh Mayes Martin; infant son, Ricky Martin; granddaughter, Amy Rebecca Martin; and all nine of her siblings: Mabel, Rex, Marvin, Ernest, Ray, Carlton, Kathleen, and infants Bondie and Archie.
Celebration of Life is 3:00 pm, Saturday, January 17, 2026, Faith Baptist Church, 6600 Trier Road, Fort Wayne with calling two hours prior.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to "The Christine Martin Memorial Fund". Please make checks payable to The National Christian Foundation with "Christine Martin Memorial Fund" on the memo line and drop them off or mail them to Faith Baptist Church.
