Christopher Alexander Brathwaite, age 69 passed away at his home February 08, 2020 surrounded by his family. Chris was born October 14, 1950 in Panama City, Panama.The early part of his life he was raised by his grandmother the late Augusta Mosley, in 1962 he and his grandmother came to the USA. His grandmother was a great part of his life. Surviving are his wife Lisa Wells-Brathwaite of Fort Wayne, In. Daughters: Christena (Richard) Brathwaite of Washington, D.C., Crystal Brathwaite of Dayton, Oh., Amy Brinkman and children of Fort Wayne, In., Amanda Gray and children of Fort Wayne, In. Sons: Wesley (Eva) Mowen and children of Louisville,Ky.,and Joshua Mowen and children of Dayton, Oh., Father and Mother In-Laws Sammy (Shirley) Wells of St. Louis, Mo., Brother-in-law Terry (Lisa) Wells and children of St. Louis, Mo. and a host of many Aunts, Uncles, Brothers, Sisters, neices and nephews.
Christopher was proceeded in death by his Granddaughter Lilly May Mowen-Byrt, Mothers: Caroline Mosley-Diaz and Viola Mosley-Brathwaite, Fathers: Robert Strickland and Cecil Brathwaite.
The legacy Christopher leaves behind is that of love, family first, always having a place to call home..if he knew someone was in need, he would give his last. He also believed that family wasn`t just blood but love and loyalty made us a family. Education was something Chris took very serious in life and was always ready to teach the kids that came across his path that same message of importance. He loved to garden and grow his flowers.
Cremation services are being performed on February 14, 2020 in a private setting.
A celebration of his life is being held on June 21, 2020 location to be determined.
In leu of flowers, donations can be sent to the family.
