C.O. “Cossie Oscar” Tyner, passed away on January 25, 2025, at the age of 96. He was born in Guilford County, North Carolina but has resided in rural Yoder, Indiana for more than 65 years. C.O. retired from St. John The Baptist Church & School and was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. He is known for his exceptional clean vehicles and his passion of growing his vegetable garden. C.O. always enjoyed a challenging Euchre game with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carneil Tyner of 69 years; his children, Norbert Tyner, Bryan Tyner, Timothy Tyner, and Carolyn Tyner; grandchildren, Hayley Tyner, Chelsey (Nick) Ackerman, and Grayson Combs; and great grandchildren, Nayomie Marret, Dallas Vasquez, and Millie Kay Marracino. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cossie Oscar Tyner Sr. and Lena (Jones) Tyner along with his siblings.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home 6424 Winchester Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at St. Therese Catholic Church 2304 Lower Huntington Road Fort Wayne, IN 46819, with visitation one hour prior. Burial to follow the service at St. Aloysius Catholic Church Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to St. Therese Catholic Church
