Connie Sue Chiddister

Connie S Chiddister, 83, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Born on March 2, 1940, in Green Center Twp, Noble County, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Eileen(Leitch) Herron.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jerry L Chiddister; children, Todd Chiddister(Dawn Fair) Tracie Chiddister; Grandchildren, Skyler Dierkes (Alex) Sethe Dierkes (Paige) Jordan Chiddister;Great Grandchildren, Maxwell Dierkes; Leo Dierkes; Jackson Dierkes. Sister, B Jean Fox Heller(Larry). She was preceded in death by her grandson Jesse Chiddister and brother Ted Herron(Marty).

Connie graduated from Northside High School in 1958. She worked at Bell Telephone and then Super Market Service for 27 years. Connie was a loving and devoted wife of 62 years, a mom who gave an abundance of unconditional love, grandma and great grandma referred to as Dreebie to her grand and greats that she loved and cared for with great passion. Connie loved shopping with her best friends and daughter. She was very intentional in her shopping and loved sharing her gifts with family and friends. She enjoyed bowling over the years with friends and family. Her fondness of chocolate and Pepsi will be remembered as well as her great amount of love she shared with everyone she knew.

Funeral service will be 1:00pm, Saturday, April 22, 2023 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8pm, Friday, April 21, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
